Peace Pilgrim

The genesis for this story is a woman simply known as Peace Pilgrim. From 1953 to 1981, a silver haired woman calling herself only "Peace Pilgrim" walked more than 25,000 miles on a personal pilgrimage for peace. She vowed to "remain a wanderer until mankind has learned the way of peace, walking until given shelter and fasting until given food." In the course of her 28 year pilgrimage she touched the hearts, minds and lives of thousands of individuals all across North America. Her message was both simple and profound. It continues to inspire people all over the world.

Following are three short videos that chronicle one man’s personal spiritual quest for peace. For personal-inner peace; for peace between individuals; and, perhaps even for world peace… as we have to be the change we wish to see in the world.

It starts out as an acting assignment for a documentary but grows to be much more. He was supposed to walk 1,000 miles for Peace but ended up actually walking over 1,100 miles. There are additional follow-up videos being posted on YouTube.com.
